In Reverse

The other morning I was driving to work, and noticed a large SUV in the lane next to me with a weird strip hanging off a damaged bumper. Upon closer inspection, it looked like the SUV had backed into a waist-high post at some point, wrecking the bumper and the tailgate.

It took me a second to realize what the plastic strip that was hanging off the bumper was, but eventually I realized it was the strip used to hold in the rear-view cameras.

That's right, the expensive option designed solely to prevent people from backing their jumbo-sized SUVs into things that don't stick up high enough to see out of the rear-window.

Proof, I guess, that you can always make a smarter idiot.
